That's high praise. I've always felt Wayne Martin was unappreciated in his time, despite the one ProBowl nod.

Yeah... that’s always the way people talk after the first round. I recall hearing a lot of people saying “Marcus Davenport is a freaky athlete from a small school just like DeMarcus Ware” a couple of years ago.

Exactly! Davenport is a freak and can wreak havoc in the backfield. He has simply been sidetracked a bit by injuries. There is a very well known saying in NFL circles, "The injury rate in the NFL is 100%". It's not IF you suffer an injury, it's when.

The list of players that were “freak” athletic specimens that didn’t make it in the league is very long I’m sure. I’ll start with JaMarcus Russell.
