I respectfully don’t see it like this. With 32 picks in a round there is 15 % of a draft round completed when you go from pick 28 to pick 33. That’s significant. Sure, the difference between 32 and 33 may not be a lot, but 28 and 33 is. I can’t imagine the Saints would have drafted Taylor if say, Newsome hadn’t been chosen 2 picks earlier. Same way with how the chiefs swept in and drafted Mahomes right before the Saints. Those few spots can make a difference.
