I just cannot see why folks cannot understand that the Saints current scheme where MT13 is option #1 and AK41 is option #1A that there simply isn't a whole lot of room for production from the other receiving slots. As I pointed out before the Saints offense has TQS10 out there for nearly 70% of the offensive plays the last 2 years. If the Saints are not happy with his production, then why do they keep running him out there? Why has he not been replaced? Sanders last year didn't replace TQS. He replaced Ginn from the year before. And it showed in the numbers. Sanders had 82 targets for 61 catches in a season where MT13 only played 7 games. Ginn had 56 targets for 30 catches the year before when MT13 caught 149 balls in 16 games. Clearly the #1/#2 production of Sanders wasn't setting the world on fire. And I repeat that TQS10 was out on the field for 70% of the offensive snaps both years. It's impossible to get production out of a position that isn't targeted. SFIAH |

That Stevie Scott is a beast at 6’ 2” 230. He may be a player.

You do know that lightning typically strikes only once? There's Marques Colston. There's Antonio Brown (6th round). There really isn't anyone else. I repeat: the Saints scheme really doesn't provide for consistent production outside the #1 receiver and #1 back. Typically the other receivers are used to block and to draw defensive secondaries into advantageous configurations. Also, the other positions are used for shot plays. SFIAH |

I think that South Alabama WR makes the team I think I see what Sean is doing I think. Him Deonte Harris I like it plus The Saints are good at finding small school offensive Talent

Re: UDFA Signings
Too early to worry about the WR depth. Let's see what the June 1 cuts and preseason cuts in August might bring.

Re: UDFA Signings
Was hoping the Saints could've signed these guys...
LB Dylan Moses, Alabama (JAX) WR Josh Imatorbhebhe, Illinois (JAX) S Christian Uphoff, Illinois State (GB) WR Antonio Nunn, Buffalo (ATL) LB Paddy Fisher, Northwestern (CAR) |

If he can stay healthy, he'll help Jacksonville. Urban Meyer & Trevor will need all the help they can get. |

Kawaan Baker will have to excel on special teams to have a shot at a roster spot. Anything is possible.
Good luck to him. |

Wonder if there really will be an investigation re: some teams got medicals on players upon request, but others teams didn't receive them at all... Payton even made a post draft comment to the effect that for players on their board they chose they had clean bills of health on them... This is where not having a combine really hurts, because when everyone is in one place, you can correct oversights of uneven flow of common information... |

WR1 - Mike Thomas WR2 - TreQuan Smith (best case for him) WR3 - Marquez Callaway Now, let me stop here and say this is based on actual experience; right now, Callaway looks to have the higher ceiling of the WR2, WR3... WR4 - Deonte Harris Because of Harris' role as KR/PR, believe we'll carry six WRs, so... Then you got these guys... 19 - Jake Lampman (RFC 2021) 83 - Juwan Johnson (ERFA 2021) 84 - Lil’Jordan Humphrey (ERFA 2021) 00 - Jalen McCleskey (FA 2021) 00 - Kawaan Baker (R7, P255) So he's got to show enough to be in the top 2 or 3 of that third tier group... |
Re: UDFA Signings
It wouldn’t surprise me if Winston has a good connection with Humphrey or someone else he had a lot of practice with doing backup reps.

I wonder if SP has ever thought of moving Juwan to TE ? With his skill set, he seems like he'd be a little bit more effective there in this offense. As for Southlake (Jordan Humphrey), I won't hold my breath. Decent blocker but lacks separation (biggest knock coming out of UT) & ball skills. With his size, he should be winning more battles against smaller CB's off the line. |

Re: UDFA Signings
Syracuse cornerback Atrilleon "Trill" Williams is a 6-foot-3, 208-pound defensive back who elected to opt out of his junior season midway through the 2020 campaign because of injuries. In three seasons with the Orange, he racked up 93 tackles, three forced fumbles, 10 pass breakups and four interceptions.
Will he make inroads in the depth chart, and gulp... even get "Atrilleon" interceptions and pass breakups? |
