Saints Sign Lorenzo Neal, Kyle Murphy and Quentin Poling.
After holding their rookie minicamp this weekend, the New Orleans Saints are signing three players who participated on a tryout basis: Defensive tackle Lorenzo Neal, offensive tackle Kyle Murphy and linebacker Quentin Poling.
Neal is the son of former NFL fullback Lorenzo Neal Sr., who played the first four seasons of his 16-year career in New Orleans. The younger Neal was recorded 13 tackles for loss and four sacks in four seasons at Purdue. The Packers selected Murphy in the sixth round of the 2016 draft, and he has spent parts of the last several seasons on the Rams and Texans practice squads. The Dolphins selected Poling in the seventh round of the 2018 draft.

Re: Saints Sign Lorenzo Neal, Kyle Murphy and Quentin Poling.
Lol, I'm not holding my breath on that one, or any other undrafted guy for that matter.
The Saints need more vets at CB. PRob is up in age & can't stay healthy, PJ plays better at safety & you can't count on a rookie (Adebo) to come in @ #2 and play effectively without destroying his confidence out of the gate. Not to mention we have no idea how many games we'll be without Lattimore. I'm still banking on us signing a cap casualty guy later this summer. But I'm sure the Saints coaches and staff have a contingency plan. |

Re: Saints Sign Lorenzo Neal, Kyle Murphy and Quentin Poling.
In 1993 the Saints drafted fullback Lorenzo Neal, who became a four-time Pro Bowler. Now they’ve signed his son as an undrafted rookie.
Lorenzo Neal Jr., a defensive lineman from Purdue, has signed with the Saints as an undrafted free agent. During the 2018 college football season, Neal emerged as one of the best defensive linemen in the country. But he suffered a torn ACL at the end of that season that forced him to miss the entire 2019 season. And when he returned to the field in 2020, he didn’t play as well. Now Neal Jr. will get an opportunity to break into the league with the same team that gave his dad his first shot, 28 years later.

Jr looks just like his dad. Big dude too. Another coachable kid for Nielsen to work with … Roach 2.0 perhaps?
Is it too early to call him my camp beast ? |
