Others remain mostly healthy until late in their careers. Davenport has been forced to deal with injuries each of his three season thus far. That is simply misfortune.

As for Cam versus Davenport, Jordan only had one season with over ten sacks in his first six years. That was in his third year in 2013 with 12.5 sacks. He really broke out in year seven having 13, 12, and 15.5 over the next three seasons.

Another thing to consider is that Davenport has been used more on running downs in the Saints DE rotation. It appears that Dennis Allen did not trust Hendrickson in that role as he played almost exclusively passing downs. I'm expecting Davenport to get more use in that pass rush role moving forward if Turner can show his worth versus the run.
I don't buy the misfortune card, some people are just more injury prone than others, and Sean Payton seems to find them lol
jeanpierre and Boston Saint like this.
