Re: What's One NFL Rule That Needs To Be Changed?
It's the spot foul pass interference for me. I've seen sooo many teams get bailed out of bad field position on this rule.
Flag em 15 yards and let's geaux. |

Wouldn't mind seeing pick plays allowed. They are in the NBA, so why not the NFL. I know teams mask doing it anyway and sometimes get caught.

Roughing the QB. Seen Brady and Rodgers brushed along the helmet with a pinky and a PF automatic first called. Why the hell have a helmet if you can’t hit it ?

Allowing the offense the penalty yards AND an extra down would be too heavy handed a rule, iyam. If I were a defensive minded coach…, I would abuse the snot out of that rule. Cornerbacks would be given free reign to maul speedy WR’s on shot plays. And any 4th down play would instantly be nothing more than than tackle all Receivers after 5 yards from scrimmage line. I would teach my players to literally tackle the receivers after five yards into their route, eliminating the automatic first down from a defensive holding penalty, on all 4th down plays. Taking the penalty, AND effectively receiving the ball back due to a turnover on downs.
Your sol’n would require a change in the entire process of receivers being held or interfered with. A complete overhaul of that section of the rule book. One that, in all truthiness, may be needed. Is my logic on DPI and Defensive Holding rules faulty? |

A 7-6 game can be just as appreciated as a 49-42 game... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

We do need to protect the QB's because the game flows through them but it has gotten so bad that the defense is ham strung and it's no longer viewed by spectators as being fair unless they are talking about their QB. It's obvious that the Brady's and Manning's are going to have the call always go in their favor unlike the lesser known QB's.
