While I've stated I'm Team Taysom, and my friends know this about me, covering camp have this in common to say Jameis is not walking away with it right now as expected...

If they were dead even it would be to the team's advantage to have Winston start and utilize Hill in various other roles. If Hill was starter then Winston's roster spot would be wasted.

By that logic, thirty-one other franchises are wasting a roster spot...

My logic clearly escaped you. Which of those 31 franchises has a player able to do all of the things that Hill can accomplish? That's right. None of them. Hill is too valuable to be wasted as a game manager. And I am FAR from being the only one that feels that way. I'm Team Taysom, too.

Re: 2021 New Orleans Saints: Training Camp

As I said, tie goes to Winston for the good of the team. That said, I agree with Charlie Weis who said he has no doubt that Payton already knows exactly who is going to be the starter and has known since before training camp ever started. The 2021 playbook is going to be designed for the starter. Or should we say has already been designed for the starter. Weis also said it is important when making a a decision on a starting QB to not have it affect the locker room. He said regardless of whether you already know in your mind who is going to be the starter you have to make it seem as much like a competition as is possible.

“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” — Winston Churchill
