Re: Observations from the Saints Trouncing of the Packers

Something else I appreciated about Winston’s performance that I don’t think has been mentioned enough is his mobility. I was discussing this with my dad and we agreed his early scrambling for first downs was a big thing. Twice I believe he escaped pressure and ran for a first. I sometimes wished Brees had done that more (maybe the difference is being 6 foot vs 6’ 4”) but knowing you have to worry about Winston pulling it down and running has to be a problem for opposing defenses. I don’t want to see it a lot for injury/fumble reasons, but’s a nice tool to have in the bag.

And Winston was heavier and did not have that footspeed when he was a Buc. Glad he put in the work to slim down and be more athletic, it paid off. No one is going to confuse Winston for Lamar Jackson, but it's good to have a QB who is at least a moderate running threat.

Actually, three times! Twice in the first drive (11 and 15 yards) and again on 3rd and 8 in the second drive with a 10 yard scramble.

Let us stay under the radar.
I checked NFL.com after the game looking for highlights. The only thing posted on the front page was an article about Jordon Love making his NFL debut. Nothing about the actual game or the Saints. When I scrolled down there was a tiny link buried in with a bunch of other stuff.

He definitely showed his athleticism but that last one was a little scared.

Has anyone heard from James Jones yet. I’m pretty sure he’s made some excuse from under Rodger’s nu* sac.

There has been some, but most coverage I’ve heard and seen has been along those lines...”What happened to Rodgers?”....”Was this because of his attitude and actions?”...”Why wasn’t Lefleur prepared?”....”Should the Packers be worried?”. Very little credit given to the team.

I say good. Screw em’. Keep flying under the radar and don’t eat the cheese!
