The knock on Hill that Siemian does well is checking it down to Kamara/Ingram. Idk if Taysom doesn’t go through his progressions to get to that point or just lacks that touch needed for that pass but hopefully he has worked on it. He will need it moving for the team and for him if he wants to progress as a starting qb in this league. |

The best value for this team is Simeon starting and Taysom playing the Swiss Army Knife where he actually has the potential to be a game changer. :bng:

With Winston as the starter and Hill as the "joker" the net potential was greater than Hill starting by a sizable margin. Hill was not being used in the backup role. That was Siemian's job. If we were to use Hill in the "joker" role with Siemian as the starter we would have to have Ian Book take over backup duties. I'm not sure that Payton is ready for Book or if Book is ready for that. Remember two years ago when Brees went down Teddy became the starter and Taysom's role diminished greatly as he became the primary backup. His touches went WAY down until Brees returned. Hill is a dynamic player. He needs to touch the ball. Under these circumstances that would have to be as the QB. |

Based on his output at Notre Dame, I think Book is ready to be the primary backup or go into games if necessary. He might not have quite the high ceiling of Zach Wilson or Trey Lance, but I believe he has a much higher floor than either of those two. Ultimately, Sean and Carmichael have the best insight because it's their team and they see how everyone looks in practice and how well they can execute the plays. |
Re: Trevor Siemian
Saints are a contender looking to secure the division and/or a playoff spot.
No way does CSP insert a rookie QB. The wheels would have to completely fall off with either Trevor or Taysom under center. |
Re: Trevor Siemian
AG asked about where the sudden love for Simeon came from. It came from finally being able to watch decent QB play. Nontheless, I am really Looking forward to going from 60% completion to 72%! Not too mention much better running skills. Praying for Taysom's brain injury though. I'd rather have Simeon play than rush Taysom into the lineup. Hopefully decision makers in this instance make the best long term decision.
