But, the player can be promoted more than twice, but not protected from waivers after the second time. Another important rule is that each team can protect four practice squad players each week from other franchises claiming them off the squad.
Per Article 33, Section 5f, clubs may only elevate practice squad players any combination of two regular or two postseason games in the same league year.
