Re: Observations from the Saints' Loss to the Titans
We may have lost the last 2 games, but the last 2 games has proved to me that Trevor Siemian is the QB we need to go forward with. If we had Kamara today, we would have won. We still should have won the game anyways. Siemian seems to perform particularly well in the clutch(we've been rocking the 4th qtrs). If we had Michael Thomas, we may be competing for a Super Bowl this year. There are still some major problems on this team that need to be addressed. We need to fix a few things on the O-line and we need some people to throw to. I think we can address both of those things in the draft. If we don't address those things in the draft, I'm going to be incredibly pissed. I know most people are down, but I think the future is bright.
Also, we should have never kicked that FG in the 4th Qrter. It makes no statistical sense at all. You are going to have to get a 2 point conversion anyways if you kick the FG. Going for the TD there would have had us much closer to the goal-line. Kicking the FG was the wrong choice. As soon as it was 4th down there, we would have to convert a 1 down play in the game no matter what. Even if we don't get it there, we would have also had a better chance of getting two possessions as they would have had to deal with being backed up at the 1. |
Re: Observations from the Saints' Loss to the Titans
Look. I know that Kickers are weird but how are they missing these chip shots? I played kicker and punter in a pinch (at the high school level) and for the life of me I can't understand how they screw this up.
That said, big players are not suiting up for the Saints. They're on to their "3rd string" QB, they don't have a Kicker, the stud RB is out, the stud LT is out (of course ) and the prima donna WR sold out this season. The Saints are doing just enough to be close in these games but can't seem to finish, which is pretty impressive considering the odds against them. |

I don’t know fellas… Just enjoy the ride. We’ll win some more games but we aren’t going to make a postseason run; and that’s ok. There are too many deficiencies in the passing game.
Next year we’re roughly $50 million over the cap with only 39 players under contract so I don’t know how we fix it. |

Penalties are troublesome.
Take the ping pong tables, party/strobe lights out of the locker room. |

I think at this point we hope that Siemian continues to improve and shows he's the QB of next season at least, I think he has done well so far. I think serious things have to be considered, if I were Payton, I'd deactivate Trautman the rest of the way. I think the offense line has to be dismantled this offseason, keep McCoy and Ram, get rid of Ruiz, Armstead and Peat. Completely overhaul WR too, if that means Thomas then so be it. |

Here’s an if. If Trautman isn’t on the team we’re 8-1. He’s cost us big time.
