RE: S.A. Saints
I dunno, I don't really feel that way. They're throwing financial support (and moral support) to our team. I like that.
I guess I see it more as "support the displaced team", as opposed to "let's steal the team away". It's nice. It could be worse - they could throw their support at the Cowboys or the Texans. That's even worse than an agenda... lol. Whether I'm right or I'm wrong, it's a nice change to see the Saints getting some support. |

RE: S.A. Saints
I like the qoute that the Saints are now the "NEW","America's Team". What the hell is going on, and we can't let anymore people get infected. Call the CDC and get them to put out an ALERT for Public Mental Health. At least we don't have to explain why we love our team to the rest of the world.
Sorry I haven't written in a while, been busy. I am in agreeance with LOE. I am "Thinking/HOPING", all this is, is just what it seems......support. We need to stop trusting the media and wait to let Benson say "Hey, face it we are moving...by the way, up yours N.O.!". Until that happens I think we are wasting our brain cells writing about this. WHOMUTHAF'INDAT!!!! GO SAINTS GO!!!! |

RE: S.A. Saints
There are 6 front page articles... 3 are about San Antonio keeping the Saints.
S.A. Saints tickets are a big, easy sell Alamo City out to sell self as being big-league enough for the NFL By appearances local football fans are adopting team as their very own Then there's also these notes: IN DEMAND - City, team officials weren't prepared for the crowds 'PEP RALLY' - Almost 200 business leaders turn out to pledge their support Crap. I f$%&ing hate San Antonio! This is more than support, IMO. I'm glad for the support, but if you think that the government leaders, business leaders, and fans in SA are doing all this just to help the Saints out - you're nuts. They want a team, and probably the one that's there now. |

Bingo WhoDat, these guys are gunning for an NFL franchise. They want it bad, and they'll do what they can, even if it means taking advantage of the worst natural disaster in US history.

RE: S.A. Saints
Of course they want a team and they wouldn't mind taking the Saints. If they could. But, I believe that with the current focus on the Gulf area and with the money that will be coming into that area, (don't forget the NFL is a business and businesses love when the gov't helps out) the NFL will want to keep the team in place to reap the benefits. Tom Benson too.

This is nothing but the city supporting a team. Sorry for all the conspiracy theorists who think they somehow want to steal the Saints. San Antonio is just trying to make the NFL realize they are a viable market, and why the hell not? Why should they be forced to be fans of Dallas or Houston, when San Antonio is a major city itself? Also, Tagliabue has made it clear NOONE, including Tom Benson, will be using this disaster to move the Saints. So it's pretty much a moot point anyway. If the Alamodome was empty and noone was buying tickets, it would be "Those San Antonio bastards aren't even helping the team during a time like this." I am glad they sold out, I know damn well I will be at all three games here in my Saints hats and jerseys. But please give up the trying to steal the team talk. You can't steal what is being handed to you, so if Benson and the NFL approve a move, blame them, not San Antonio. But the head of the NFL. Tags, said it won't happen. So why blast a city that doesn't have a football team, for supporting a football team playing here?
