Adrian Peterson

Wonder if AP is on our radar..

After almost a year-long break, veteran running back Adrian Peterson found his way back to the league once again after being signed by the Tennessee Titans in early November. Due to the season-ending injury of star rusher Derrick Henry, Mike Vrabel needed the contribution of the 36-year-old who eventually saw action in three games.

From Weeks 9 to 11, Peterson compiled a total of 82 rushing yards on 27 carries to go with a touchdown scored for the Titans. His level of production was respectable given his advanced age though Tennessee still opted to waive him not long after.

The former NFL MVP may not be the old dominant rusher that he once was but his short stint with the Titans showed that he is still capable of contributing to any given team. At the same time, a handful of squads also need to beef up their RB room due to injuries which could potentially open up a roster spot for the tenured veteran in the near future.

With that said, here are three teams that could still acquire Adrian Peterson heading to the latter half of the season:

New Orleans Saints

Perhaps the most injury-plagued squad in the league as of Week 11 is the
New Orleans Saints. After seeing quarterback Jameis Winston go down with a season-ending torn ACL injury, star rusher Alvin Kamara has also been missing action for the past two games due to a knee injury.

Just last month, the Saints brought back a familiar face in Mark Ingram but he eventually headed to the sidelines after sustaining a similar knee injury in Week 11. At this point, the team could use any form of help that they can get and could potentially benefit from acquiring Peterson off waivers.

Being losers of three straight contests for a 5-5 record, the playoff hopes of the Saints are looking quite murky as of the moment. Admittedly, Adrian Peterson won’t completely change the outlook of the team, given the injuries that continue to stockpile in the other areas of their roster. However, the Saints can definitely maximize his veteran presence and leadership to spark the last push that they need in hopes of getting a spot in the NFC playoffs.

I wonder if the Saints have talked to Phillip Rivers.

History should tell us that we have benefited from a QB from the Chargers not so long ago..

Philip Rivers joining the Saints needs to happen as soon as possible..
After a rough loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, it’s more than clear that the New Orleans Saints need to get Philip Rivers to town as soon as possible.

With Jameis Winston out for the season due to his torn ACL, the New Orleans Saints and Sean Payton have had to start Trevor Siemian at quarterback. Things have gone about as poorly as expected with him running the show.

While Siemian has starter experience and can spin it at times, he’s simply nowhere near the level the Saints need him to be if they want to make noise the rest of the campaign. With that said, Philip Rivers had previously said he’d listen to New Orleans if they came calling. So, why haven’t they picked up the phone? source: Fansided
