Defense is playing lights out. But they are also playing tired. They stay in the field 75% of the time. Trevor is not the qb this team needs from here on out. No talent at wr ot te. Offensive line is all banged up. No threats on offense whatsoever when Trevor is playing qb. There is no way book could be any worse. This season is over so let’s see what we have in him.

I’m not trying to be picky, but the D didn’t play that great IMO. The loss wasn’t on them by any means, but consider the following:

* Bills scores TDs on their first drives of game and half. The D can’t claim fatigue there.

* Team did not tackle well. Many players had lars YAC success.

* Not a lot of pressure on Allen and, when it came, he killed us on scrambles. That 3rd and long scramble was terrible.

Again, not their fault, but the large O issues are hiding D problems as well IMO.

def; factor- a circumstance, fact, or influence that contributes to a result or outcome.

And in our case a not so good outcome.

It's not a just a factor. It's a fact that you are statistically losing winning percentage points when you go from starters to second stringers. Statics prove that your chance of winning go down. It's hard to play chess when you are left with nothing except pawns.

We're not just losing players, we are losing players at key positions QB, WR, RB, TE, and O-line. You can make up for losing a few starters but we've been devestated by inuries.

I've coached rugby teams who didn't stand a chance against the dominant regional teams. Winning all depends on the strength of the product that you trot out there. Sometime you are simply outmatched. However, My teams won plenty where they lost a few key players and we remained healthy.

I disagree. The Saints had tons of depth coming into the season. This was one of the deepest rosters we have ever had. But even the greatest depth does not have starting quality players at backup positions across the entire roster. Good depth means you can plug a hole here or there without missing a beat. It doesn't mean fielding quality backups at half of the positions keeps the potential anywhere near as viable as when true starters were in there.

At QB, yes, Drew left. But in Winston we had a very capable starter. A big step down, but a better option than many of the teams across the league. But there are not enough quality QB's to go three deep.

One injury can be overcome. Two can be handled with some difficulty on even the best of rosters. TEN key injuries cannot be overcome no matter how much backup ability the roster had. Those backups that were supporting the special teams are now trying to replace starters. In turn, the special teams are going to take a major hit.

Injuries are not an excuse. They are a very real reason that cannot be overcome when the volume reaches what we are dealing with now.

To me, the DEFENSE was the only reason we weren't out of it at the half.

We forced a very good Bills QB to throw 2 picks. I thought that int by Kwon towards the end of the half was all effort. Incredible play.

Side note - saw a stat line .. Saints defense was on the field for 36 minutes last night. Those guys simply wore down.

We have a low-energy offense. NO QB, WR, or RB is a ton to overcome.

I can't be mad at Trevor ... he is what he is & I didn't expect him to save us but he sure as hell didn't get much help upfront.

It could get ugly vs Dallas. They can put up points and we can't.

I’m not saying they didn’t outplay the offense. No doubt Those TOs kept the Saints in the game for a while. But they gave up a TD on drive 1. Were they tired then? They gave up a TD on first drive of second half. They shouldn’t be tired then. Brees commented a few times about their coverage breakdown and confusion before snaps. They frequently couldn’t get off the field on 3rd
down and didn’t tackle well. The Bills had been performing sub par offensively the previous 2 games. All my opinion, but the D was not very good.

We should have kept Teddy, he would have had more time to develop and was very efficient when he started. However, even with him, we lack pass catchers, so it might have been a little better but not much.
