Like many of you I am a lifelong Saint fan, but living in Texas. Moved to the Dallas area a couple of years ago so I listen to the local sports programs pretty religiously before I turn on THE BIG 870 in the evenings. I can guarantee you that if there is ever so much of a whisper that Sean Payton is available by trade, will be fired or is looking to resign that Jerry Jones will fire whoever his head coach at the time and bring Sean Payton in and make him the highest paid coach in the league. The radio guys here constantly claim that Jerry and Steven Jones both regret the day they let Sean walk and if he ever comes available again they want make the same mistake twice. Now In saying all of this I don’t believe Sean will leave because he has it made in New Orleans and is involved in pretty much every on field decision and would not be in Dallas. However, with a change in ownership coming sooner than later I would imagine all of this will become a hot news story one way or another, but you get a guy like Russell Wilson who will be here for the next 8-10 years my guess is Sean goes nowhere.

Keithday 123,

I live in Bedford (Mid-Cities) area ... over on 103.3 FM Dallas beat writer/columnist, Clarence Hill Jr. has been beating the drum for Payton as long as I can remember living in this city. He needs to let it go.

Anyways Welcome to B & G

Welcome, and you are correct. Payton has nothing to gain and everything to lose by staying in New Orleans. As for change in ownership, I wouldn't be so sure about the "sooner" part. Gayle has recently stated that she is going to be owner until she passes and Payton may need to retire before that happens.
