We have to take better care of the people who are mentally challenged with proper training and interaction. Not necessarily always with policemen but by employing a prepared mental response team. Way too many people with mental issues die in jail and todays society is aware enough now to put a stop to it before other bipolar or even suicidal people are treated like criminals. Yes, he did evade police and being bipolar was possibly aggressive. We might just need counselors more than policemen in todays society. A large percentage of the community suffer from PTSD, bipolar disorder, depression and other mental illnesses that make them volatile. They shouldn't die as a result of their actions unless the officer feels a deadly situation is in play. Take care of the sick. Don't punish/kill them. |

Former NFL Player Glenn Foster’s Autopsy Suggests Evidence Of ‘Strangulation’ Before Dying In Police Custody
Civil rights attorney Ben Crump and the legal team working on the former NFL star’s case dropped some damning information this week. Glenn Foster was declared dead in the back of a police cruiser on the way to an area hospital, according to a statement released by the law firm representing his family. The 31-year-old former NFL player was charged with three counts of reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and attempt to elude. An independent autopsy was returned Friday by the family of the former Saints player who died in police custody last week in Alabama. That independent autopsy showed that his cause of death was strangulation. |
