Brett Maher Appreciation

While I realize he isn't our longtime solution, he still deserves props. We didn't end up needing the field goal to give us the two possession lead, but nontheless he nailed it.

It took us three or four tries but we may have found someone to kick until Lutz comes back next year.

IIRC Maher made kicks from both sides of the hashes from moderate range and none of them looked too shaky on Sunday night. Pretty good compared to what we've seen from the others.

Verity who?

It's Maher's second go around with us, right? Glad he's coming through now. The kicking game has cost us likely two games this year. Now where would we be with two more wins under our belt? 9-5? Playoffs?

We signed him during the preseason but quickly put him on the IR and then cut him.

Slam dunk for the playoffs at 9-5. That said, we still have a good chance where we are now.

Some of us still dream of what could have been if Jake Verity had come to town.
We could have brought back Cha Ching and Jake was sure to open a restaurant in Metairie called Championship.
And move over Great Dane it was almost Great Jake.

Depending on how the rehab is going for Will, I definitely think the Saints should keep Maher around for a while.

He's been solid for New Orleans.
