But Bako’s post focused on money and comparing the Saints to other teams as a way to press the idea the future is bleak. The cap situation is a factor of chasing the title with Brees’s last years. I don’t mind that. I’m not sure how much it hurt us. The only WR lost from last year is Emmanuel. That’s hardly gutting. In fact, I’d ask him to name the player that was on the roster last year that he would most like to have on the roster for this year to demonstrate the gutting he is referring to.

I don't think the future is bleak and I'm with you. Spend the money. I have ultimate faith in the Coach and GM. Ultimate.
I can't be convinced that Sean went into the season thinking our WRs were more than a project, and we came away with what we know. We have a lot of second level talent WR. We only have one genuine playmaker there and he never played. Sanders was a playmaker and he of course isn't here. So coach went run first... Drew, as we know, was worth every penny we paid him.
We passed for fewer yards per game than: the Giants, Bears, Texans...let me make is easier. We were dead last. Regardless of who we played at QB. That's a product of a lot of things. We have work to do. Someone suggested trading MT. Now I wouldn't do that, but I sure do understand the logic.
Kamara is too valuable to run him into a line that can't block 30 times a game. I'm satisfied with a reset this offseason. It just wasn't our year.
