Carmichael was the odds on favorite according to some for getting the Packers' HC job back in 2019. According to this article he had a interview scheduled.

No way would I ever let him walk if he's under contract. He's much too valuable. I don't care if there is some sort of league compensation. This is a business and should be run like one with contracts completed to the end of their agreement. Sure, I'd give him another raise. Oh wait, didn't we just give him more money?
