Jeff Ireland leaves, it's done...

We've only got two other good scouts as the rest are nepotistic hires (sons, relatives of coaches, etc) without a complete understanding of scouting...

All the more reason to give him the GM title. Loomis has never been a player personnel man. He's the number cruncher, a vitally important role, but not your traditional GM.

While he's proven himself as a good playcaller on occasion, there may be doubts as to how that would translate to head coaching responsibilities. DA took over as interim head coach when Payton was out with COVID.

Never know until he takes the plunge. I think Dan Campbell is slowly putting it together.

I think those inside the business know his capabilities, but they may not include head coaching duties.

I agree 100%, should have been considered for HC a long time ago. With that said, I've seen plenty of articles over the years that basically said he isn't really interested in moving on and is very content in his role with the Saints.
