I pray this is just an over abundance of caution and not the shape of the season to come. I'm pulling for him to blow up this season to silence the critics. But I'm a pragmatist. WR's with hammy issues tend to battle them long into the season.

He was one of about a dozen players that didn't practice for whatever reasons. One thing I've noticed this training camp is how much care and patience is being given to the most minor of issues. Also this whole "ramping up" process mentioned over and over again. I have a feeling this all stems back to the new Director of Sports Science, Dr. Matt Rhea. It sounds like they are addressing things before they can become issues and being smart about reintroducing the players back into practice.
It makes sense, especially with the key players and in the preseason. Just like it makes sense holding all key players out of these meaningless preseason games. |
