RB (4) 41 - Alvin Kamara, 14 - Mark Ingram, 34 - Tony Jones Jr., 33 - Abram Smith (UDFA 2022), 24 - Dwayne Washington (FA 2022), 28 - Devine Ozigbo (FA 2022)
My hot take here - Abram Smith will leap frog Jones Jr & challenge the vet (MI) for snaps at the start of the regular season. |

I’m worried that if he doesn’t step up we have a BIG problem. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a signing after final cuts or even a trade for someone. JMO.

That said, anything he gives us in rushing is lagniappe; sure Saints FO, Coaches, Scouting know they scored a coup in signing him as an UDRFA... Guess that makes the Saints not signing very cap friendly contracts in Sony Michel and/or Darrel Williams, especially Williams, that much more puzzling... Know many in Saints locker room have a lot of time, friendship invested in Ingram, but what does he have left in the tank?!? I've not seen it... And then of course is the expected suspension of Alvin Kamara for the Las Vegas Meltdown he had, chasing down a man with fellow NFLers on a beat down... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

But yeah, we could use another proven/younger RB added to the roster. I really thought Darrell Williams would be a good "fit" in this offense. |

Re: 2022 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Darrel Williams had less than 100 RuAtt in his first three seasons buried on the KC depth chart; however, he averaged 4.3 RuYd/Att that third season...
In his 4th season, as a reserve higher on the depth chart, he started 7 games, averaged 3.9 RuYd/Att, 558 RuYds, 6 RuTds; plus 47 Rec, 452 ReYds, with 2 ReTds... So Williams was trending in the right direction and would have been a solid No.3 RB for us especially when Mark Ingram starts to show his age and mileage... |
