NT (1) 99 - Shy Tuttle (RFA 2022)

DT (3) 93 - David Onyemata, 97 - Malcolm Roach (RFC 2022), 69 - Kentavius Street (FA 2022)

Here ...

The defensive line has somewhat regressed in 2022. Onyemata is approaching 30 and hasn't developed into a pass-rushing threat. Fits as a 1-tech more than 3 tech.

The Saints need to find better depth at left defensive tackle - the run defense has been average all season.

Side note - it will be interesting to see what happens (UFA) with Davenport in 2023.

We are already paying an often-injured unperforming player with Mike Thomas. No need to just have more players collecting checks from the hot tub. It's too full as it is.

I'll give you often-injured, but underperforming ... no way. He single handedly beat the Falcons in week one and led the team in catches in week two while scoring the lone touchdown. When he plays he absolutely performs.

Well, Mike isn't underperforming, he's just been injured ... a LOT.

He’s tied for second in receiving TDs on the team.

Re: 2022 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

So, the Saints have added two more linebackers. One to the active roster and one to the practice squad. I guess they're trying to evaluate as many linebackers as possible. They may need to let Ellis walk if he wants too much money. Or if they're cleaning house they could feasibly let DeMario Davis go. I don't want to see that but it would be one way to save money this off season. It seems like we always cut good players to save money.

Or they need players for special teams since several have gone to injury. But, I believe we seldom cut players to save money. We sometimes do not re-sign a player that is wanting more money than they feel they are worth. There's a difference.
