2022 New Orleans Saints: Schedule

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I'm looking forward to training camp more than any year since 2006. I'll be there with a few fellow Who Dats from the BNG. I can't wait....

Winston has a 5,000 yard 30+ TD season under his belt. He’s got Thomas, Landry, Olave, Callaway plus whatever games Kamara plays and what the TEs can chip in to throw to. He Doesn’t have Payton yelling at him in his ear to not make a mistake. He’s got a solid OL with a first round draft pick to bolster it. He’s got a capable, experienced veteran QB backing him up. He’s on a short contract and has everything to prove in a league that’s willing to brush him off. This is a Kurt Warner type comeback story waiting to happen.

You think you know, but you don’t know...and you never will! Coach Jim Mora

I don’t know about the Kurt Warner comparison but I’m hopeful the time off helps him have his head on straight. He has the physical traits - providing he recovers totally from injury. For me those are the big questions. I won’t be scared if he goes down.

Yeah, that might have been a reach. I was waxing nostalgic. How about a Matthew Stafford type story ?

I hope he has the ghost of Payton whispering in his ear to take care of the ball. Jameis doesn't need to be the hero of this 2022 season. All he needs to do is be healthy, take care of the ball, and distribute it to the playmakers.

These are all great points about Jameis. The point I’d like to make about him is, this season isn’t about Winston. The 2022 season will be determined by how well the O-Line performs. Drew had a top 3 line every season except for maybe his last 3.
That’s when he started to look NORMAL.
Every QB we put under center last season were running for their lives.
How did Jameis get hurt, running for his life.
Yes, Winston’s injury is a concern but the coach’s and Jameis are selling it well.

Its a testament to the D that the team won 9 games last year. I think that D has even MORE potential this season. Just sayin'

Agreed. Hoping Doug Marrone being back will help get that line back into shape.

Injury, injury, and injury was the problem with the line last year. McCoy out for some games, Ram out for some games, Peat out most of the season.

It's difficult to remain cohesive when the lineup is changing from week to week.

So, here is hoping to minimal injuries the upcoming season.
