Don't worry. Nick Saban will never leave the college coaches ranks again. He doesn't have the same freedoms to bully players when he's talking to grown men who think they already know everything. Besides, he's a legend in Alabama! Roll Tide!

Here are my dark-horse candidates I think we should at least think about. We should consider "buying low" on coaches with good experience. Going with the young hotshots with the big names to be elevated is always a gamble.
Jason Garrett - Don't laugh. Coach Clap is arguably a better head coach than an offensive coordinator. I think he can do a better job and be somewhat liberated without Jerry's overbearing influence, and he has a lot of experience as a head man to draw from at least. Mike Zimmer - Let Carmichael mastermind the offense, and add a good defensive head coach to get the most out of our defensive stars. A brain trust of Zimmer/Dennis Allen/Kris Richard could be scary good for the defense. He's a tough dude attitude-wise - kind of like Mora Sr without the theatrics. |
