Re: Your dream coach
Tom Brady. He is very very competitive, smart, can call plays, and learned from the best. I generally would like us to follow the New England model of managing the cap carefully, selectively trading away some veterans or not extending them all, getting more comp picks, and trading back in the draft, and Tom is familiar with that model. He loves to compete and his wife hates to see him get hit, so coaching is a way to compete without getting hit, and he could compete with Belichick and Arians as a coach. He is also good at recruiting players. We wont be great next year anyway with cap issues and no qb so I would be willing to let him learn on the job. Recently retired stars have become very successful coaches in many sports, though not many too recently in football, But I think it could work. He was willing to come here to replace Brees. Why not Payton? And heck we are looking at Leftwich, but is it is not reasonable to argue that Tom Brady may have been the one running Tampas offense the past two years more than Leftwich?
