Re: Possible Michael Thomas Trade?
Michael Thomas is going somewhere, to the doctor when he is supposed to play and to the beach when he is supposed to go to the doctor. But it makes ‘strategic sense’ to extend him until he dies at 80 years old so that we never have to take a big cap hit 1 year until 2075 or so. Plus he has the talent that if someone invents an attitude and ankle time machine he can help us! That could happen by 2075!

Re: Possible Michael Thomas Trade?
It is going to be interesting to see if philosophy of the offense changes at all.
E.g the new coach not ignoring positions of need in favour of an UDFA To be honest, I've always wanted to see what Pete Carmichael could accomplish without anyone looking over his shoulder. We got a glimpse of Pete calling 100% of the plays in a few games in 2011 and it was a beautiful sight to behold. |

Re: Possible Michael Thomas Trade?
It's really like he can't wrap his mind around it. I'm not talking about the last 5 years, I'm not even talking about the 9-8 season this year. When I look at what we have, the cap we have, and just the big picture in general we are kind of positioned to be stuck in mediocrity. We aren't going to have the team we had this year next year. The cap is not going to allow it. We aren't going to have the coach either(which Payton imo had one of his best coaching seasons this year dealing with all the crap). We are not in an ideal situation and we really need to do something to shake things up a bit. AG is one of those guys that thinks you can still win a game down 40 points with 5 seconds left to go. He probably literally sits there and is like "come on... we can do this". He has a hard time seeing the writing on the wall and just dismisses everyone along the way.

I'm not happy Sean left, but I see it as opportunity. We need a fresh look at a few things maybe. I don't know. We have a find a QB that's for sure. I'd sell the farm for the right one. See Joe Burrow. |
