Pete Carmichael maybe out as OC

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; That was my initial thought. Bienemy to us as OC/ asst. HC. Why else would he leave? And what QB could he be most excited to work with??...

That was my initial thought. Bienemy to us as OC/ asst. HC. Why else would he leave? And what QB could he be most excited to work with??

I could be completely wrong but for Eric to leave a franchise QB, stud WRs #1-4, stud TE and potent run game for New Orleans ? ... To take a lateral move?

That's a hard sell.

Money AND recognition could do it. One of the knocks I kept hearing on him was that his success was dependent upon Reid, Mahomes, and those offensive weapons. Reinvigorating a Saints offense would really enhance his chances of landing a head coaching job sooner rather than later, wouldn't you think?

And being THE man with the offense wouldn't be a lateral move in that sense.

Another thought on Carmichael. If he truly has no longer has ambitions to become a head coach what difference would a title be to him? As long as the money is right staying with the Saints in any capacity would be a possibility.

Yes, the article did state that he was likely to remain in a different role. If all this holds true, it will show DA has a very different image of what the new offense should be. Very interesting stuff!
