Yes! Also consider that most of his contract cost is married to what he does at QB via specific incentives. He is not that expensive playing TE or any other position as long as he produces as he has shown those areas to date.

That’s not exactly true. His cap hit every year is around $12 million without the incentives. That gives him the 5th highest cap hit in the league for TE’s this year and 6th highest next year.

His "projected" cap hit is that figure, Chris. He has a $9 million roster bonus this year which will be converted to a signing bonus. Prorating that over the remainder of his contract at $2.25 million per year puts his cap hit this year at $5 million, not $12 million. That includes his $1.1 million base salary and his existing signing bonus proration.

You must always factor in the restructures that Loomis and Harley put into place in the contracts.

He also has a $9.9 million base salary next season that will be converted and prorated as well. Roster bonuses and base salaries can be converted and prorated without any negotiation.
