I posted this earlier, NOLA ...

.. Ross Jackson explains how the two DC concept can work successfully within the Saints organization. Essentially, Nielsen retains direct control over the defensive front while Richard does the same with the secondary. It becomes Nielsen's job to develop the run defense for the upcoming game as Richard does the same for the passing defense. He explains that there will obviously be some overlap of the two, but given that they have already been working together in the past, that should not be an issue. Play-calling duties, however, could be an issue one might say, but with Allen handling those duties that eliminates that hurdle. Placing one of them in the box upstairs and having the other on the sideline would also maximize gameday coverage.

In my line of work the saying goes" To many Chiefs and not enough Indians" it's always a bad deal. The blame game runs rampid.

That's only when the chiefs are all trying to run the whole tribe. As I mentioned earlier, ignore the titles. Allen is still the defensive coordinator. Nielsen is the run game defensive coach. Richard is the pass game defensive coach. Allen calls all the defensive plays. They each have their own distinct areas of responsibility. They are defensive coordinators in title only.

Don't like it
Leaves nobody accountable, at least to the outside world which just leads to speculation. Has to be a head honcho who shoulders it lays on. To be perfectly honest really not like much that has been done this offseason. Just looks like trying to keep the gang together without the actual person who ran the show, added to losing the onfield head a year earlier. Kind of feels like a band losing its Singer and Guitarist but carrying on without them

The head honcho is DA. He's made that clear. You're assuming a lack of accountability because there's no single person label "defensive coordinator". In fact, it's not a new approach and may just work out best for all involved - including the players.

Time will tell.

Absolutely correct! THIS is what I've been attempting to point out. Some are getting fixated on the title Defensive Coordinator in the traditional sense. To be accurate, in the traditional sense on the current staff Dennis Allen remains the defensive coordinator. Richard and Nielsen are basically senior defensive assistants with responsibility over secondary and defensive line respectively.

If Sean Payton was to have named a co-offensive coordinator with Pete Carmichael nobody would have had a single concern because they all knew Payton was completely in charge of the offense. The same can be said for Allen.

Wrong. "Some", which is antagonistic by the way, because it's vague (say what you mean mr passive aggressive) do not like the idea of having multiple 'leaders', because 'some' understand it is generally better to have the buck stop somewhere - otherwise the kid can play one parent off the other.

The only reason you're okay with it is because your a sheep. Had DA said having dual defensive coordinators is an absurd idea you'd be in here defending that. You have no spine.

What do you know about leadership speedo - not including twitter?

Precisely accurate. It's definitely a style of 'leadership' that the 'lit' population is gravitating to, and it's the lack of accountability that draws them in.
