Why...? Why......??

In the Chiefs' games I've seen - he has been terrible.

One of the worst in the league. Laughable.

I don't think this is Chiefs safety people here were hoping for!

Boston said it best … camp body.

Special teams/depth at best, nothing more.

Had him in a very deep IDP league about five years ago as a bye week filler. I think that may have been his only year starting regularly.

You cursed his career...

Go figure the team with three defensive coordinators isn’t doing anything to improve the offense.

I don't blame them on waiting for the WR market to adjust. It is way out of whack.

Would feel a lot better about the depth if PJ Williams was re-signed.

It's what this team does best, they wait until all the WR's are gone.

When we have negative cap space the money doesn’t matter… Now we sit here with roughly $23 million in cap space and we have to be careful with the contracts we give out.

Who are you waiting for at this stage of the game in Free agency ?

Broke down Julio Jones? TY Hilton ? Old man AJ Green? A nutcase in AB perhaps? Bargain bin (Trequan Smith ) players can’t help you in late January.

Read an article from Jarvis Landry’s camp that the Saints haven’t even called. That’s mind boggling to me.

Which of the free agent WR's signed to date do you feel we should have paid what they received? Just curious. Christian Kirk signed at 4 years for $72 million. Chark was mentioned a few times - $10 million one year. Has trouble staying healthy.

Still a lot available ... Jones, Landry, Fuller, Beasley, Hilton, Sanders, Cole, Watkins, Hurns, OBJ, Amendola, Goodwin, Humphries, Sanu, etc.

Most of those guys on that list are either injury prone or past their prime. Band aid on a bullet hole

Does the article mention what his camp is putting out there that he wants?

What else was there available and what did they end up getting from elsewhere? Did they want to go somewhere without state taxes? Did they want to go near family? There's so many factors that none us know what taking place during the free agent season.

3 questions - how many reposted tweets will it take to answer them?

That’s a possibility but this problem didn’t spring up overnight, it was a problem stemming back at least since 2018 and SP nor the FO did anything to fix it. It was just super obvious last year. Most teams are gonna field two no. 1’s this year, while we more than likely with roll out MT and the scrubs. And another thing is we don’t know if MT will be MT. He had the same injury as Jimmy and Jimmy wasn’t the same guy after the ankle injury/surgery

Re: Saints sign S Sorensen

Saints were willing to mortgage the farm & draft capital on Watson but want to pinch pennies at a position of need?? Gotcha coach.

Bargain bin, great value players take L’s on Sundays at this level.

If the Saints draft for NEED instead of in Free Agency, it’s is a ticking time bomb waiting to happen.

What do I know, I’m just a couch coach though 🤷🏼.

Jimmy wasn't the same guy as Thomas before the injury. ;) But, I'm willing to let the new regime have a chance here. Free agency just started and there will still be options left hanging until after the draft at all positions. I asked this of Major, but what do you think, who have we missed out on that we should have signed so far?

What FA WR have they missed out on that they should have and could have signed so far?

Is that even a serious question? Why don't you tweet us a list of all the FA WRs who've signed elsewhere. You're the "insider"...

In all fairness, I think they tried. But we've discovered that NOLA is no longer a destination of preference, for a variety of reasons. It can still be, but it'll be defined by the success they have in the beginning of DA's tenure. We've the cap situation to deal with as a limiting factor for some of those outrageous contracts handed out. Example of Cleveland comes to mind with DW. I mean, who'd want to live in Cleveland ?!?

You can’t always nickle and dime your way in Free agency at the skill positions. Brees is long gone.

What is your definition of “a lot” available?

Jones is OLD and BRITTLE, Watkins is a walking injury in waiting (see Jones) , Sanu is downgrade from Trequan, OBJ is recovering from yet another torn ACL & won’t be ready until late October , Sanders and Amendola will be 36 at the start of the season :(. Goodwin caught a blistering total of 20 passes in 2021.

95% of the guys you mentioned can’t help us at WR. The only guys I see worth a damn is Landry & slot guy Humphreys but the Saints won’t call. Trequan is a good blocker so he’ll get the nod .

No more participation trophies. It’s time to compete.

You need a MINIMUM of 3 legit WRs to have a chance in late January.

But again, I’m just a couch coach.

Though he wasn’t a FA we could of possibly traded for Woods though not likely since it’s in the same conference but I would of tried my damnedest. For FA JuJu, Barrios, Z. Jones, Pringle, MVS are some. Did they overpay for some, yes but sometimes you gotta spend money to make money. Oh, I’ll say this to I’m giving them a chance but if they strike out in FA and not draft a receiver in the first two rounds. I’m going to be on the fire Allen and Loomis train. If we didn’t try to get a guy that wasn’t coming here in the first place we could of paid MW not get Dirty Dan

I agree completely that we need that same three WR's. Who could we or should we have already signed?

Puzzling signing - Is Malcolm Jenkins on the move? retiring?

Has Marcus Maye had some regression in his rehab from Achilles Tendon Sx?

Is J.T. Gray being moved?

Is this leverage against P.J. Williams asking for too much coin?

Is he being moved to a rover LBer?

Woods is coming off a season ending injury. That would match our free agent M.O.

To the point about taxes - is the NFL the same as the NHL when it comes to players paying taxes?

In the NHL players pay taxes based on in which state they play games in, which means they pay a fixed tax rate for all of their home games, and a variable rate for all of their away games.

It used to be a hot topic among the Canadien teams that they were unfairly competing with teams from states like Florida. Then someone did the calculations, and the earnings difference was actually very small between signing with a high tax state team and a low tax state team.

This is true. But it's something that the the players see as real. They talk about it as a factor all the time.
