Slow Starts
As long as I can remember, we have been a team that has come out flat footed to start the season and always seem to get off to a slow start. It just takes time for this team to gel. Unlike what we did to Green Bay last year before the wheels fell off. It's a good thing we've been a "clutch" team because we always seem to start from behind.
This year I see another slow start to start the season before it all comes together mid season. First, and most importantly, our QB is still in rehab from a season ending injury. We'll see if Payton was able to break his bad habits. Our # 1 receiver has been out for almost two years with an injury and our WR room is still the worst in the NFL. We need to replace the best LT in the NFL, which is not an easy task. Yes, Ram can slide over and Hurst can play RT if that's the plan, but last years O-line was abysmal and desperately needs an infusion of fresh blood. We will have to find a replacement for the six or so games AK will miss to start the season. Although, knowing Godhell he will probably wait until the back half of the season and the playoffs to suspend him. Alvin Kamara is our best weapon on offense and it's hard to replace that kind of production. We lost the best FS in the NFL but replaced him with a solid player who I'm hearing something about a possible DUI. But aside from that the defense should still be able to keep us in games while they put it together and make it click! Did I mention that we have a new head coach? Yes, the system remains in place and DA will put his fingerprints all over it to make this his team. Not Payton's. I definitely see another slow start to the season but have high expectations for the Saints when they eventually do come together as a team. The future is so bright I gotta' wear shades. |

We lost the best FS in the NFL
This play and the non call vs the Rams spotlighted the Sports /ENTERTAINMENT business that is today's WWNFL. |
