this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I think Trequan is more of tight end than receiver. He's the reverse Jimmy G who was more receiver than TE. He isn't costing that much, so I don't see what the big deal is bringing him home....

But that what he does. He’ll have a good streak of games, then play terrible or disappears. |

Re: TreQuan is Back!
I know he hasn't been a consistent WR, but I have to say when he does catch the ball in open space...he's damn fun to watch. Who knows maybe he finally reaches his potential this year and again he's not that expensive...

Re: TreQuan is Back!
I’m not excited about it by any means. But they do have 90 players in camp. Like mentioned earlier by Gnome He’s a guy who knows the system. Could be nothing more than a training camp guy to give the QBs a qualified route runner until the season starts; Could end up stepping his game up and being a solid #4 behind Thomas, Callaway, and someone yet on the roster.

Re: TreQuan is Back!
I know some people are not happy with this re-signing, but it's not a huge contract, so at least they didn't break the bank on him.

I think people are really missing this (production/lack thereof) for whatever reason. |

Re: TreQuan is Back!
(Can’t believe I’m defending Smith!). Keep in mind a few things;
He had Brees throwing to him in his weak arm phase Had camps and preseasons impacted by COVID, hurricanes, QB battles Had Winston for 6 1/2 games and then a revolving door at QB Had no strong WR or TE presence to help him a good chunk of the time All excuses?…maybe so. But they all had an impact on his development. I’ll admit I’m down on him and this signing is not what I was hoping for. But it’s a long way until final cuts and if he’s our 5th receiver on the team then we could do worse. |
You think you know, but you don’t know...and you never will! Coach Jim Mora
