Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints shake up first round of 2022 NFL draft with multi-pick trade

The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to trade two of their 2022 first-round picks (No. 16 and No. 19) to the Saints for New Orleans' 2022 first-round pick (No. 18) and a 2023 first-round pick.

The Eagles will also receive a 2024 second-round draft pick, plus a 2022 third-round pick (No. 101) and a 2022 seventh-round pick (No. 237) while sending a 2022 sixth-round pick (No. 194) to the Saints.

After the trade, the Eagles will still pick twice in the 2022 first round as they also own the No. 15 pick.

Figured this needs its own thread.

It's definitely apparent we aren't in rebuild mode.

I'm starting to think we may have a QB in mind. I wonder who.

That just doesn't make sense. None of these guys are franchise material honestly. We gave up our 1st next year that is QB rich. We're looking for legitimate starters here. Has to be WR and T. I'd be fine with 2 of the top 4 WRs honestly.

Agreed. None of the QBs in this draft make me say "Wow!". Like you I'm hoping it's OL and WR.

Sam Howell is the only guy that I think will be successful and maybe Pickett. I don't care for Malik Willis at all.

Hmmm ... hopefully this works out. Maybe we will see good players fall and hit big on both pick 16 and 19. We'll have to keep an eye on the teams that draft between us and take advantage of opportunities.;

I honestly don't like any of them. Willis is the only one that excites me, but he's a project that probably needs to sit 2+ years. Nothing in Trey Lance showed me he's ready to start this next season.

Trust me, Sam Howell has something special about him... I'll pull this thread back up when he shows it. Still, I don't see us picking him with either of these picks. Maybe we aren't finished doing what we are doing. Might be able to take these picks and convert them into several picks.
