When we had big family gatherings and the cards would come out the first rule
spoken was “Joan and June gotta be on separate teams!’
Haha that’s fantastic. Is her twin sister still with us?

She is. She was able to be there in the hospital with her when mom passed. This happened in the Austin area. I was there too until I had to fly back last
night. My brother contacted me with the news.

Here’s another one. My dad started dating my aunt June before my mom. They went on a date and June wasn’t really interested in him but my mom Joan was. So when my dad called June for a second date she said yes but sent my mom in her place. About half way through the date he figured it out ! 😝. The rest is history.

That is a wonderfully crazy story. I love it!

My deepest condolences!

Re: Saints lose a great fan today.

Sorry for your loss Boston. Unfortunately I understand all too well. My Dad passed away this past December after a brief fight with colon cancer. I know he's in heaven now reaping the rewards of a life well lived in service to the Lord, and I'm comforted by that. I'm sure the same goes for you with your Mom. The pain will dull, but you'll probably find yourself missing her more and more as time goes by. I was just telling my wife today about how much more I miss my Dad now compared to the days and weeks right after he died. My heart and prayers go out to you and your family. One of the most comforting things anyone has told me came from my sweet wife. She reminded me that just because he isn't here anymore doesn't mean that he doesn't still love me, or that he can't still feel my love for him. I tell my Dad I love him everyday, and I feel the reciprocal warmth of his love for me. I hope it brings you some comfort to know that the same applies to you and your Mom. Take care my friend.

Thanks for sharing your story and your pain fry! God Bless you and us all. I’m already thinking of things I forgot to ask/tell her. So many things I’ll miss sharing with her about my daughter's life. I also fear my 89 year old dad won’t last long now that she’s gone. I’ll be going through all this crap again all too soon I fear.
