Will believe that when it happens. Hope so, just skeptical at this point.

Just hope we don't over pay. Esp when he said he would give a home team discount

Re: Honey badger

I guess none of this happens on the down low anymore?

The agent and player leaks to entice bidding wars..

I'm staying positive, but truth be told we've lost out on so many of these we are overdue for one!!

I just wish it wouldn't have the leaks but in the end it's all about the dinero right..

So we really need him? Feels like we have a platoon of defensive backs in the house.

Can't have enough. Not to mention, he'd instantly be the best safety on the team. Probably best DB in general.

He's an experienced Field General man

I'm on board to bring that composed competitor home for sure..

The cost concerns me, we'll see what a "home town discount" actually does for us, if it is true that we're actually going to get one.

That last thing I care about is cost of getting any player. Bring him in.

Now it's on saints report as well

I hear ya & agree but at some point, HB is gonna just have to start lowering his demands. There are other teams out there with the cap space but no one has budged. Not even the Rams :p.

I do recall reading an article from Underhill a while back stating that HB is willing to sit it out through training camp (someone will get injured) if he has to but I don't foresee him getting the money he wants.

I'd love to have him, however at the end of the day ... it's all about money. Hopefully, the numbers are close & the front office brass can make it work. It's obvious the Saints still have a legitimate interest in closing the deal.

To be continued :bng:...

Honey Badger would be cool for sure, but I'm worried about length of contract and amount of guaranteed money. How much longer can he remain productive?

This statement make 0 sense, so no matter how it cripples our teams ability to sign additional talent, no matter how it cripples us with the CAP going forward well heck let's sign him, after all he's a LA product, and it all important we have the #1 safety prospect whether or not this is our greatest need currently? Nope.

Myself I've been glad we haven't been over paying either with salary or draft picks like a lot of the dumber teams have been doing this offseason.

Sir Loomis needs to ante up on this one and handle it out of his own black and gold billfold..

He's made alot of money here and with all of the hair loss he's endured due to the financial acrobatics he's put on full display..He still deserves no slack!

I just read that the Eagles GM said they are pretty happy with what they have at safety and don’t appear to be interested in Tyrann that much which appears to leave only us. My question is, is why are we the only one that seems to be interested in him....or is it that Saints and Eagles are the only two he was interested in?

It's all about the Benjamins ... HB wants more than teams are willing to pay. Maybe his price just got lowered? :bng:

There's a huge benefit to getting him in early for all the offseason programs. If I'm DA, it's critical that Tyrann be 100% integrated ASAP

With the cap skyrocketing over the next several years I absolutely have zero concerns. That's the job of the front office. It make zero sense to me as a fan to worry about anything that I have no control over and of which have far less knowledge than those that do it for a living.

This draft and free agency has been better than the last few years under Payton

Funny. All these years of being a Saints fan and rarely have they had an even average defensive backfield. This group looks to be the best they've ever had.

That said, I would prefer Jarvis Landry over Mathieu.

Let's just get both. :bng:

Your stock answer for those that disagree with you. I miss Saintsfan.

It may seem stock because it is true. It bears repeating.

Where the guys that were just telling me the other day this was highly unlikely due to the cap blah blah blah?

We're not here because we're smarter than NFL Executives. We're here as fans to opine, rejoice, rant and yes - act like GMs.

You probably don't need to remind us we're not them.

What I like is the comment HB made about playing harder and with more energy in front of his family and for his home team. That’s great to hear and we may get the best version of him yet

No, it really doesn't. We all know we're not an active an GM in the NFL. It sounds very condescending and it doesn't really help discussion.

Typical of that ridiculous blow hard. You're supposed to agree with him and with anything the Saints FO does. No matter what! Conform!!

Don't disagree with you at all. However, we seem to need quality depth for what now is a 17 game regular schedule. I think the Saints will go cheap for WR 3-5. We do have after all Deonte Harris, now Deonte Harty with the name change. Lil' Jordan says hello, and KMajor's favorite TreQuan. And we have last year's WR pick from South Alabama. Maybe we can unearth a little gem in the UDFA class.

I'm hoping TE Krull surprises us. He was a favorite target at Pitt for that QB the entire media wanted us to draft.

Re: Honey Badger Signing With Saints

Wow! Just wow! Amazing how much better our team got in the last week…not to mention players coming back from injury like Lutz and Thomas. Keep in mind as well that Hill isn’t spending time as QB. He will bolster the TE position greatly. Hopefully the league keeps sleeping on us but I am very excited about where we are. A QB in his physical prime with good targets to throw to and a D primed to be dominant with possibly the best DB group they’ve ever had. Injuries and the league screwing us us all that’s holding us back.
