Deonte' Harty 2.0?

Who is your surprise (if any) WR from the bunch?

As for the O line, if Trevor P has some struggles early on would you insert James Hurst @ LT until the rookie gets his technique down?

WR Kirk Merritt impressed recently.

So, Winston is back practicing after tearing his knee 8 months ago. Thomas is not back practicing because of an ankle injury suffered about 16 months ago. Ok…..

HIPPA laws are in effect for NFL players, as they should be, until regular season games start and the privacy waiver in NFL contracts allows public disclosure for Injury Reports...

No question the delay to have the surgery was a head scratcher, but ankles actually have more tendons, ligaments and muscles involved than a knee injury...

Then of course there are infections and other set backs...

Feel the frustration, but the ankle injury has more moving parts than a knee - not that a torn ACL or MCL is a walk in the park...

Committing that much salary cap to one player is always a big risk, but he was playing at an elite level and the worst case scenario unfolded...

Let's see what unfolds throughout training camp and when teams start disclosing injury reports, we may get more details...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Pardon my French JP…sounds like BS excuses. I Have had three knee surgeries and two ankle surgeries. They are all tough. Just not sure Thomas is.

And Boston, I'm just saying we don't know specific details of his injury, subsequent infections, et al...

Not every case is the same - and if I didn't make it clear before, the GM in me is really frustrated we've got that much cap space committed to a player that's on the bench...

I'd be willing to bet Mr. Thomas is every bit as tough as you, Boston.

But JP is absolutely right. All we know is that there was reportedly a complication in the original recovery that required a secondary surgery sometime around this past November. That's sounds quite a bit like some sort of infection or a slight tear during recovery. This type of stuff happens. A new timetable would be in effect.

I just had my right ankle replaced and started walking on it yesterday. Oh, the marvel of modern science....
