This is now where I hope he flops in Philly. Can't be seen to let someone like him go for that value. As much as his trash talk on the field was great for us..... off the field you gotta have respect for your coaches

I don't blame the guy for chasing what he thinks he's worth.

It doesn't always work out that way, but you've got to go for you.

I'm way less concerned with the way he left. He knew he wasn't going to be here. Knew a trade was out of his control. It's the NFL business...

We'll see if the chemistry is negatively affected by his departure, the X-factor IMHO. Or maybe it is a positive with our additions...

This is the first I’ve heard of him causing problems with coaches. Him and Thomas got into it but Thomas was the one who started throwing a **** fit and cursing out Payton. The other players seemed to love him.

The fact that this pretty much guarantees Sorensen a roster spot makes me want to vomit.

Defense lost some attitude and a playmaker.

I just wish we could've gotten a higher pick for him.

I guess we'll use those two picks and another to move up in the draft.

That's a few less taunting penalties we'll have to worry about.

Damn good player and I'll miss watching him getting home on those blitzes.
He belongs in philly and will fit right in.

Shake the team up I like it.

Mike punched him in practice and if I remember correctly wasn’t Mike fined or suspended by the team!!!

Re: CGJ Traded to Eagles

I'm sure he's gonna start trash talking the team in the next few days. And during games he's gonna be a complete ass.

That said, I liked him on our team. He was a dog. Terrible that he got traded for chump change. Huge talent loss. And he was fun to watch.

I just hope the trade was because he was indeed a locker room issue. Not because there was a couple million difference in what he wanted and what the Saints wanted to pay.

What's not discussed at all is perhaps Ceedy may be the result/product of the system the Saints use along with the quality of the personnel the Saints have. If that's the case, we'll see in short order this year. If he mouths off in Philly and can't back it up, and they already gave him a contract we wouldn't tender, then consider that we may have dodged a bullet, especially if Alontae Taylor makes you utter: "Ceedy who?"

I think the concern was that since we couldn't agree to an extension we were going to have to franchise tag him. But the team wants to save the franchise tag for Trequan Smith, Adam Troutman, and/or Zach Baun.

Lol, what?!

I hope that's sarcasm.

Re: CGJ Traded to Eagles

Also the value on this trade for the Eagles is really good. They get an attitude setting great starter but thats not the best part. The amount our 1st round pick they possess will move up due to the extra losses this will give us is worth more than the picks they had to give up. I think I heard they gave up a 5th and 6th. Assume we lose 1 extra game due to missing CGJ and our 1st round round pick they have moves up 3-4 spots. A 5th and 6th round pick to move up 3-4 slots in the 1st round is cheap, even if they didn't get an emerging star who 'refused to talk to coaches' when he was holding in during training camp for a new deal. Michael Thomas refused to talk to coaches for half a year and we are purging the team of anyone he ever got in a fight with.

Lord knows the offense just wouldn't be dominant without 3quan! Lol!!! Love it Bako!!

Re: CGJ Traded to Eagles

We got CGJ in the fourth round because of character concerns. Those concerns may have reared their ugly head again and DA wasn't having any of it. Apparently, things became difficult after negotiations broke down and things deteriorated between him and the organization. I don't want to say that he was a cancer, like I see all the time, that is no more than pure speculation.

The fact is now he is an Eagle and we have a couple of extra draft picks. It's better than having an unhappy player in the locker room for a year.

That about sums it up!

Re: CGJ Traded to Eagles

Aaron Rodgers has character concerns and the Packers kept him. Jalen Ramsey had character concerns and his relationship broke down with the team and he demanded a megadeal but the the Jaguars still got premium value for him. CGJ was ‘holding in’ which is like holding out except you technically show up and read magazines so you cant be fined as a no show, so of course he was not ‘coachable’ during that episode. Dozens of players did holding in during the camp / preseason. No other team dropped a starter for peanuts because of it. Eventually his holdin would have ended like most and if he didnt listen to coaches we could limit his playing time. He is a competitor and with limited or no playing time he would get bored and start listening for the chance to get on the field. Then we could trade him for actual value if we wanted. We say we feel confident in our other safeties but Mathieu is old and both Mathieu and Maye have long injury histories. Sometimes I think we dump key depth players and dump mid round draft picks because we dont want to have depth because we prefer to be able to blame injuries when we lose vs having the pressure of winning.

Re: CGJ Traded to Eagles

This was one of those, "He's a jerk, but he's our jerk!" situations. I loved how he got in the head of other teams, and the swagger he brought on the field. If it was only money, I think they could've found a way to work it out. We don't know everything, I'm sure.

As long as the guys in the locker room aren't upset, the team moves on. And from every video, twitter post, news article, it seems like nobody is mad at this. I wish they could've gotten higher draft pick or a player in one of our areas of need, but I'm sure this is the best deal they could work.

Move forward to the championship!

Sounds like CJ was not happy with the Saints elvauation of his $🤑 worth to the Saints. He probably stayed in character of the Provocateur during this process. But if the Saint evaluation of CJ he could not be 100% in the team process this was the only way thru the situation of his own making.

Career backup is his ceiling.

I still can't believe Sean Payton traded up. Most scouts had him going undrafted.

Too bad Payton didn't have that energy in trading up for Mahommes .
