I'd like to share the link from Nick Underhill but it's a paid service so I'll paraphrase ...

Ceedy became disruptive at practices, developed an attitude & disrespectful to coaches. He really did this to himself.

I'll miss his energy but you have to remain professional at all times.

As we see, the Saints organization has zero tolerance for developing a bad culture again.

I sure hope that there's more to this trade.:brood:

It certainly makes me feel better about the Alontae Taylor pick.

We let go of a 25 year old Marcus Williams and 24 year old Chauncey Gardner-Johnson this offseason.

Yikes.

I heard he wanted Lattimore type money. Sucks he developed that kind of attitude but I still think we could of got more out of the deal. Guy is a top ten maybe top five nickel

Yeah I saw that can’t say I’m surprised knowing the type of player he is.

He is a fan fav for a good reason but we will be fine

I don't know what's going on in the Saints facility. Tyrann Mathieu is on the Twatter making vague comments...
Quote:

But there’s currently a vague question lingering. He tweeted on Monday night, and
then deleted
, this sentiment: “The only job where youth beats out experience without actually being better.” Roughly an hour later,
he said this
: “HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHA.”
Meanwhile, all references to the Saints are gone from his Twitter page. We’ve seen that enough in recent years from other players to know that it almost always has meaning.

Of course, it's from profootball talk and those two are clowns.

Also upsetting is he gets traded to an NFC team that WE PLAY THIS YEAR. Plus he could get into Brady's head. Damn.

A 5th and 2 6th's for one of our best defenders.

We got fleeced.

Yep. Feagles got him for peanuts. Ceedy must have really become a distraction in that locker room. Pretty apparent they wanted him gone.

I see Justin Evans taking on the strong safety role and Mathieu sliding down to the Nickle. I don't think Alontea is quite ready yet.

But again, once you start disrespecting coaches (DA, Richard, Ryan N) it's a wrap. According to Nick, Ceedy checked out (once no movement on new contract talks) a while ago.

Unfortunate.

Re: CGJ Traded to Eagles

Hate to see him go…especially for table scraps. However, if he’s being disruptive and becoming a problem it’s best to move on. We’re trynna win a championship and build a positive culture. Bradley Roby is a great nickel corner. We should be fine.

This brings up again Adebo's status. What is his injury?

SmashMouth 08-30-2022 11:38 AM

Re: CGJ Traded to Eagles

Hate to see him go... he needed to get paid. We can't pay everybody. And yes we should have gotten more value. Mebbe the Alontae Tayler pick made him expendable. If you're the Saints, that's one of the ways you stay under the cap. Keep drafting good players and don't stay on the hook for the team destroying contracts, not that the Saints haven't done this before. Mebbe we should also consider that Ceedy was the product of the Saints defensive system?

I wonder how this plays out with the compensatory picks formulas.

Yet Thomas gets pass after pass.

Ceedy Deuce never broke any NFL records and has never been considered the best at his position at any point in his career. He’s a great player but we have depth at safety and corner. He can chase the big bucks with Philly.

Re: CGJ Traded to Eagles

This is stunning. Some other DB's are going to have to step up. At least we got some picks for him. As bad as it is, if we cut him today for nothing out of the blue that would have been brutal to take.

And maybe he can come back someday. The Malcolm Jenkins career path LOL.

That would explain why you move him now instead of getting a supplemental pick after the season.

But damn, I liked having our own trash talker. And he took it to another level.

Are the combo of picks worth more than a 4th, his draft round? Can't remember how the formula works.

Well if its true that his behaviour wasn't up to par I am okay with this move. If a player is disruptive and disrespectful to the coaches I don't mind if they outright cut him.
