I think that may have been the plan all along ... being able to disguise coverages prior to the snap. Therein lies the new heretofore unattained flexibility due to new personnel decisions.

That's my understanding. There are no well defined roles. There's no way the offense can peg the defense merely based upon personnel. We can run the same defense with multiple groupings and/or run multiple defenses with the same grouping.

If the Falcons attempt to base their whole defense upon limiting Kamara they are going to get slashed by Thomas, Landry, and Olave at WR (all better than any the Saints had last season) and Taysom Hill at TE. Not to mention having to score themselves against arguably one of the top three defenses in the entire NFL.
That said, no one has been able to stop a healthy Kamara yet. Why would you feel that the Falcons could manage this all of the sudden? |
