Our success offensively has always been the pass to set up the run. Winston was on the money once we opened up the passing game.

Right. That **** annoys me. And it’s always some kind of under center run to. Never a shotgun zone read. They should come out first play in shot gun, play action, and throw the ball. Or play action from under center and take a shot on the first play of the game. Change it up man. Payton is gone.

Yes! Because as soon as those throws start to happen the D will back off, the D-line will focus on rushing the passer and that makes it a lot easier to open the running lanes.
When runblocking it is, usually, much easier to move somebody trying to rush the passer than somebody trying to stuff the run because then you can just take his momentum and help him to go that way in a controlled manner and when he realises what is happening it is usually too late.

Prevent defense of the FailClowns helped too.

It wasn’t really prevent. They played a zone practically all game. I saw a lot of Cover 2 and I believe some Quarters but Jameis was able to get into a rhythm when it was time to push the ball down the field. We have to allow him to do that. Payton drilled it in him to dink and dunk like Brees but that’s really not him. He has to be able to stretch the field first to open up those plays underneath for somebody like Kamara. Atlanta has two really good Zone cornerbacks though. Like, both elite at Zone coverage. You see Michael Thomas ate AJ Terrell up anytime he had to man him up.

Re: Saints @ Falcons Game Day Thread

I would prefer Jameis in the shotgun (works for Pat Mahommes) if I had a vote. Appears as if Pete was bottling him up with the calls all first half.

IMO this team is built to PASS FIRST.

When given time, Winston can absolutely shred a defense.

Re: Saints @ Falcons Game Day Thread

I'm going to break down the game for yall. I was smoking the My Father La Opulencia Toro Gordo. We were playing horribly, but it tasted good, so I continued to smoke it. I decided I was finished with it and needed a change and switched to the E.P. Carrillo Pledge Apogee. The moment that the cigar was lit, we played lights out and couldn't be stopped. It was kind of unreal how we changed right on a dime in unison with the cigar being lit...I've never seen anything like it. Both were paired with a chai latte because I can't drink alcohol. Benzos are nice though.
