Re: Observations from the Saints Loss at Panthers
Pete Carmichael hasn’t been good but he isn’t responsible for stopping the blitz. It’s up to the QB check out of the original play and the Oline to adjust accordingly.
Again, DECISION MAKING at QB is poor through 3 games. Saints need a spark offensively. |

Re: Observations from the Saints Loss at Panthers
Many here have pointed out all the things that are not going well for the Saints. Oline, offensive play calling and Dennis Allen not up to task.
All valid points but we just don’t stand a chance with a QB with little to no pocket awareness and a reasonable Football IQ. He cannot read defenses and it seems like if his first read, be short or midrange, is not open all bets are off. Besides the block pass interception how many time did he throw straight into raised arms of the defenders. I can’t recall Winston throwing the ball away this year, please correct me if I’m wrong. Allen needs to make the QB change this week with Winston behind center we might be early first round pick in the next draft. |

Sad to say but I’m not excited to watch this team anymore.. just no fire. I will continue to watch but it is hard. And next week is a London game.. oh boy

Let's be real though. He wasn't intended to shoulder this team and take over games like Rodgers or Brady. When everything breaks down around him he will panic, he will make mistakes and we will go deeper into the hole. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know why these breakdowns continue to happen across the board but I can tell you we are probably one more bad loss away from season ending expectations. |
Re: Observations from the Saints Loss at Panthers
First off, I want to say I love our defense. Those boys played lights out for us today. Secondly, I have never been a Winston fan and never will be one. He is who he is, a turnover machine and he will never be better. You can blame the o-line, WR, play calling, whatever, but everything starts with the QB. Injury or not the QB play helps everything. Quick decision making helps with the o-line and WR play. KAMARA is the best threat we have as a receiving threat and the ball wont be checked down. Ppl want to blame play calling, but there was a reason Winston had a good year last year before he got hurt. SP held him back and ppl wanted him to air it out. Air it out for Winston means interceptions. With our D, we will be in every game. We need someone who can manage the game. Winston can't do it. There was a reason why DA went for the rapist and Wilson before the start of the season. Without a first round pick in 2023, we are in some trouble boys. Hopefully our D plays lights out for the rest of the season, because that's the only chance we will win.

Re: Observations from the Saints Loss at Panthers
There are a lot of problems offensively, not just Winston however he's a big part. Your defense can only do so much in 4 quarters of a game.
The Saints will continue to struggle until JW is able to fully diagnose & read pre snap coverages. There is a reason why opposing defenses continue to blitz us on 3rd downs. Anyone who doesn't see that, need to go back and re-evaluate the last 3 games. Winston has performed poorly. Dennis, Pete, and Dougie M have a lot of work to do offensively. |
