Damn. The team hasn’t been out this many players since the Miami COVID game!

Just in case anyone missed it ...

Lattimore, Landry & Michael Thomas are likely out for Thursday. Trautman is questionable at best.

It's probably best to put Michael Thomas on IR.

Honestly, I'd be surprised to see him play again in 2022.

Assuming you are correct, what advantage does putting him on IR give the team? Is there a roster spot involved. Honestly wondering Major.

According to Kat Terrell they decided NOT to put Thomas on IR three weeks ago when they determined it was projected to be a four week recovery time therefore it had to have been a grade two turf toe. She said they said they wanted to keep him active just in case he could return earlier. Four weeks will be this next weekend. His targeted return should be the Raiders game in week 8 according to that timetable.

Why put him on IR now when he should be nearing the projected recovery time for that injury?

The Saints could use O-line help (Peat could be out again) &/or depth as well as adding another veteran WR. I'm not sure how severe MT turf toe is but that could take months to recover from if not longer.

We are needing healthy contributors on the roster badly.

Ok "nearing a projected recover time"

Just like some were reporting that Landry, MT & Olave would quite "possibly" be back for the Cincy game.

If you expect him back by the Raiders game, go right ahead with that thought process. 99.9% of us aren't holding our breath on the availability of Mike Thomas anymore.

The Saints are decimated by injuries & it could get worse.

Practice squad guys & 4th, and 5th stringers are a recipe for an L on Sundays.

Yes, it could take months IF it was a grade three injury. The fact they said the original timetable was only four weeks indicates it is a grade two. Had it been a grade three he would have undoubtedly been placed on the IR right away.
