Only care about the game at hand = don't care about the future of the team.

While I was shopping with the wife I see the Bucs getting slapped by the Panthers. Laughing hysterically on the inside.

We just gotta get healthy and go on a run. We can win this division. Nobody stands out. We're likely still the most talented. I think we need to consider making a move to improve this roster because it’s loaded and we can win with it.

I had dropped in earlier as soon as the Bucs stunk it up again to say the same things.

Of course I care about the future of the team. But I know I have no ability to affect it, nor do you for that matter, but I choose not to on it dwell endlessly trying to convince others that I have all of the solutions to all that ails the franchise. Ad nauseum.

What happens happens. I gladly hope for the best because neither of us can affect the future success of the team.

I get it. At the same time, if we get there and get knocked out like we always do, we’re in worse shape than we started. I don’t think it’s as cut and dry. There’s talent there we just need to play better.

Thirteen teams now get knocked out every year after getting there. But you don't have a chance of winning it all if you don't get there. But you are correct that there is talent there already.

But the 2010 Seahawks beating us in the playoffs didn't matter. They lost in the next round. What mattered is that they didn't make any blockbuster trades or signings where they gave up a lot of draft picks or mortgaged their salary cap for years to come. Then they went on to have great drafts in 2011 and 2012 and the salary cap space to keep their young core together and they won a Superbowl as a young primarily home grown team. All the Seahawks show is that any team can win a weak division but that is unlikely to result in a ring, what results in a ring is focusing more on the future when you are in a situation like that, as the Seahawks did, which got them their ring down the road, instead of trading the draft picks that became Richard Sherman and Russell Wilson to win it all that year as 7-9 division champs.

Winning it all without a franchise QB is very very hard. We can't get a franchise QB if we don't have draft picks and/or salary cap space. Winning the draft and winning free agency are very hard without picks or money. We have the talent to make the playoffs. Lots of teams make the playoffs without a franchise QB. But we need to focus on getting the QB first if we want the trip to be a happy one.

I'm sure all of your serious focusing is going to get us exactly what we need. Let us know when you've accomplished your goal!
