It is what it is. Saints have invested in core group of players that are not able to stay on the field. If they can ever get on the field together there is a solid foundation there. We gotta hope so because that’s where we are. |

Despite all the aforementioned problems, the Saints are still in the hunt for the NFC South... Incredibly!

Mathieu just looks lost out there and is making a ton of business decisions when it comes to tackling ball carriers. I think DA got overconfident with the Belichek mold and thought he could just plug holes with any player. Turns out we had some special young players, that they just let walk. It started when we let Vonn Bell walk a few years back, just as he appeared to be hitting his stride as a player. |
Re: Let's Talk Trade Deadline
According to NFL Network, Loomis wants a trade package similar to CMC for Alvin Kamara.
Wonder if any team would bite. It'd be interesting for a team within Super Bowl reach. |

Re: Let's Talk Trade Deadline
It sucks being salary cap constrained right now. The draft picks I don't have an issue with moving especially if it's a young impactful player. Not being able to re-sign him regulates us to bargin bin shopping.
Thankfully we do have the horses here to compete. We just need to get them healthy and/or coached up properly. |

We need a first round pick for a decent QB! Thomas is my choice for a trade!

Also, do you think the rest of the league is blind? Who out there do you think will trade a first round pick for Thomas when he's barely been on the field for 3 years and unfortunately doesn't look like he can remain healthy. I can understand being disappointed in MT13's availability. But folks who want to get rid of him have completely unrealistic expectations. If the Saints are going to move MT13, it would be after June 1, 2023 when the contract shifts from the bonus money dominating to the in season salary dominating and the team can split the remaining dead cap across two years. And no one is going to give up a first round pick for him. SFIAH |

Re: Let's Talk Trade Deadline
Dolphins acquired EDGE Bradley Chubb and a 2025 fifth-round pick from the Broncos in exchange for RB Chase Edmonds, a 2024 fourth-round pick, and San Francisco's 2023 first-round pick.
The Dolphins certainly are going for it, as they've signaled since the Tyreek Hill trade. Chubb will give them another devastating option off the EDGE, and heading into the final year of his rookie contract Adam Schefter reports that Chubb will sign a long-term extension with the Dolphins. Miami has roughly $18 million in free cap space for 2023 per Over The Cap, so they'll likely have to do some re-negotiations to tie all this together. But in the short-term, it's a huge acquisition for the Dolphins' chances of making the playoffs this year. SOURCE: Adam Schefter on Twitter Lots of action and good names being moved this year. I think this may be the new norm. |

Re: Let's Talk Trade Deadline
I am glad that Loomis made golf happen instead of screwing our draft and cap situation further. I wish we would have traded some expensive vets but I am used to us doing the opposite of whatever makes sense, so nothing is a big improvement.

We should have traded for Hines…

Re: Let's Talk Trade Deadline
With Ingram hurt they need some RB help. Was hoping someone could have been picked up. But I guess the right deal never showed. I do think Jordan Howard could be brought up from the practice squad to help. He’s only 27 and should have tread left on his tires.
