Week Thirteen: Saints @ Bucs

Will the Saints make the move to Winston? I believe they should, but doubt they do.

Saw the last 8 min of the Bucs, Browns game.

Meh, a very beatable team but then again so are the Saints.

FWIW, Wirfs is out with a high ankle sprain.

Might as well start Dalton one last time, leveraging the bye week to make sure Winston is ready physically and mentally as possible for the last 4 games.

Well, if the Saints win this one they could still win the division. Not sure if that’s good or bad 🤪. If they don’t they are playing for pride.

I take it you are alluding to it being good for the Saints, bad for the perception of the division. It is what it is. I'll take having a home playoff game any way I can get it. :D

Ha! Especially when you got a ticket to the game.

It would be ironic if somehow the Seahawks come in second in the NFCW to the niners and had to come play a game at a 8-9 Saints team. Paybacks, I hear, can be a painful thing.

That would be so very sweet!

Clown lives matter. :p

Edit: This isn't meant as a derogatory statement. Just having fun.

I don’t think Dalton did terrible last game anyway (at least from a stat line - I didn’t watch the game). It was a one dimensional offense. The run was absolutely no threat and when we did run, AK coughed it up. Both times inside the 5 yard line I think. Those are killers.

One fumble inside the five. The other was at the 43 yard line.

The first Kamara fumble was on the fourth play of the game....set the tone and the Saints never recovered.

Once again, Dalton's performance was not the issue this week.

Give him San Fran's O line and defense, he'd probably be 9-2

Re: Week Thirteen: Saints @ Bucs

Outside of a small stretch earlier in the season, it's been a horrible year for Kamara. With the ineffectiveness of Kamara and no other option to turn to, it really doesn't make a difference at this point which QB they use, the offense will likely continue to struggle without a running game.

Once again, I put that on Carmichael. The defense knows that we're going to attempt with some basic run on 1st followed by another on 2nd down. Payton usually went with the pass to set up the run. Carmichael either doesn't have the creativity to do the same or doubts Dalton's ability to go pass centric to do the same.

The Saints need to clean up all of these penalties (661 yards) to stay close.

Week 12 and still committing silly false starts. Clean up the fumbling too.

Offensively, try more sweeps (you have a fast guy in Shaheed) & screens.

Anything.

Need for speed with Shaheed and Olave. Crumbs can be gotten underneath with others...

Alvin Kamara is back to being overused again. He is much more efficient and effective when he has a running mate who can pound the ball like Mark Ingram used to. We need to address running back in the off season because Alvin is not getting any younger and he is likely going to miss substantial time next year for the Vegas incident.

The Saints are averaging 13 ppg over the last month.

If this team & Dalton struggle against the Bucs in primetime, it's time to consider inserting Jameis last few games of the season.

Stubbornly sticking to what isn't working is one of the many reasons why you are 4-8.

No points = No wins. It really is that simple.
Holding the 49ers to 13 in most matchups would seal a win. But because we couldn't put points up with the anemic offense and turning the ball over, the pundits are now crowing about how great the 9ers D is! :brood:

There was a legitimate reason why the Cowboys moved on from Andy Dalton a couple of seasons ago.

I think Andy Dalton is a decent backup quarterback who can win games for a short period of time with a healthy team around him. He is not a starting quarterback anymore and for us to pin our hopes on him was a bit of a stretch.

Lol,

Rugs Andy had Zeke, Pollard, Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup while up this way in Arlington yet still went 4-5 as a starter.

I won’t be mad if he doesn’t return in 2023.

Well the Falcons LOST today.

Big picture, IF the Saints can find a way to defeat the Bucs on Monday, they are TIED for the NFC South.

You gotta find a way to defeat Brady on Monday.

The Bucs losing Wirfs last week was a big blow. He was the last piece of their diminished offensive line that could be counted on to attempt to give Brady time.

I hate to jump ahead with this team but IF you can somehow put together a few wins (starting on tomorrow night), that Philly trade won't look so bad.

I honestly don’t think It is bad either way. We got the likely OROY WR for that pick. Getting a potential cornerstone player is always a good trade.

I agree!

So many people expect "next year's pick" to always be the better pick. We picked up two players that could be cornerstones of the offense for many years to come in this year's first round. You are more likely than not to get a disappointment taking a QB in the first round. That's a fact.
