Hell I stopped following it in the 4th with time winding down and a 16-3 lead so I could get my son to bed. Checked it a bit later and saw we blew it and lost. I just started laughing.

How pathetic.

It is what is it .

Defense is like sales.. A strong opening but failure to close is still a bad performance. :bng:

Just finished watching the game and the disappointment is real.

It's certainly not what caused the loss, but Ingram could've easily gotten that 1st down on his run while the Saints were up by 13, but for some reason he decided to run out of bounds before the marker without contact. I just knew right there that they wouldn't be able to convert on the 3 and 1.

Yes, this exactly!

A pattern has developed.

The players change, yet the outcome is the same.

The only constant is coaching which must be accountable.

Now that I have calmed down - a little - here's some observations:

- Through 3 1/2 quarters the Bucs clearly looked like the more rudderless and fragmented team on the field. We channeled our inner Falcon and let them off the hook.

- For a good part of the second half we did a nice good of chewing up closing and sustaining drives. The 12-men-in-the-huddle near the goalline was brutal. Payton would have put in Taysom for QB power and there would've been no need for a huddle to begin with.

- The Ingram running out of bounds debacle - this is what happens when you put an injured player back out on the field. Kamara or Washington, a ham sandwich or any of us could have stayed in bounds and gotten that first down. Either Ingram felt something go or made the worst business decision possible.

- Carmichael's misuse of Kamara continues to infuriate me. Find someone who can set the edge and call some runs to the outside or get the ball to Kamara in the flat. Heck, maybe line him up in the slot at this rate.

- Look, I get that Taysom cannot play every snap but he certainly doesn't. He was missing on the field in some key situations.

- By and large the defense tackled well and rallied to the ball.

- Due to Honey Badger's advancing age and lack of size, him trying to cover tight ends is a real problem.

- For once some of the crucial calls (particularly the holding call negating a TB TD) actually went our way in a TB game. This one wasn't the refs, we beat ourselves.

- Not getting to go for it on 4th and 10 and getting the offense pulled off the field lit a fire under Tom's butt. Bowles lucked into a good coaching move.

- Like other weeks, Alonte Taylor and Shaheed were the bright spots.

One other thing - why does it seem like even compared to college teams our D-line almost never seems to stunt and the pass rush is all straight-ahead 4 man bull rush? It's weird.
