It's the same argument for not drafting Mahomes, really. Saints have a history of using two number 1s to move up. Yet, they didn't for Mahomes, but did it for others. In the end it's yet another failure by the Saints front office. I'd love for DA to come through for us and make us all eat crow. We all want nothing but the best for our beloved team. It feels as if we got lucky with SP and Brees, and that the ride is completely over. We'll have to see what portends for us this year. ![]() | |

As for the ride being over, to a certain degree it absolutely is. Brees was one of the greatest to ever play the game. Payton made the perfect compliment to Brees. I doubt we'll ever see the same level of success. That doesn't mean I don't believe we can win championships again, it just means not with that level offense. |

Re: SP Putting Together a Staff
Well, I for one am looking forward to seeing where we end up after free agency and the draft and looking forward to a successful season. Ominous was the twenty years before having our first winning season. Ominous was winning only three games in 2005 following Katrina. Ominous ISN'T winning seven games with a backup QB and missing three starting offensive linemen.
