You think Herndon Hooker will be available at 29?

We don't really know for sure... But probably even early second round, ours at #40.

Coastal Carolina

Decent stats, but you have to consider they are versus SunBelt competition.

It seems like fans and mock drafters have been overvaluing QB recently.

In 2020 there were only four QB's taken before the 122nd pick.

2021 looked better with five taken in the first round.

But in 2022 only one QB was taken in the first 73 picks. Only five before Sam Howell in the 5th round with pick 144.

Hooker could easily make pick #40.

Agreed... Tulane players have the same grain of salt. But I'd still get their RB. Maybe we can get McCall in the later rounds.

I saw where he was projected in the 5-7 round range. That's worth a flyer. Why not? The chances of bombing out on a QB is fairly high whenever they are taken. That would be my only concern about Hooker. If he doesn't pan out it would be a much more valuable pick wasted.

Not opposed to taking Hooker and another QB like him in the later rounds.

I can live with that. Keep Winston around as the bridge on his existing contract.
