What should the Saints’ plan be to upgrade at QB?

I can agree with much of that. I'd still be very open to taking a flyer, however, on a QB later in the draft. While chances are they wouldn't develop into a starter it's still worth a shot. They could end up being a decent backup. If nothing else you need a third QB on your roster, if for nothing else, practices. A late rounder is a cheap option for that purpose, at worst.

I hope they just continue to inject new talent into the roster via the draft while potentially waiting a year for the next franchise QB.

Use the 1st round pick on the best interior lineman on either side of the ball or on a RB/DB.

I wouldn't mind going with Winston and Hill under center for next season.

Just don't make any splash signings and try to reduce bad contracts in any way possible.

If they are truly are committed to getting their salary budget in a better state - they should just go with Winston and Hill at QB as they are both under contract.

2023 should really be a rebuilding year for future success not a retooling one to further mortgage the future.

Agreed... and draft a developmental prospect. Never know, sans SP, maybe we draft a better QB prospect.

If we had to restructure the contracts of Andrus Peat, Taysom Hill, Alvin Kamara, and Michael Thomas so that absolutely Peat would have to remain part of Maholmes starting offensive line for 5 years, Kamara would have to play to 35 with a big cap number, Hill would have to be our starting TE and the new Travis Kelce for Maholmes, and we would have to count on Michael Thomas as our #1 WR (say that Olave would be be part of the trade for Maholmes). It would be great to get Maholmes but do you think we would get a ring if we could never move on from all these bad contracts? The Chiefs can't win most years with Kelce and Reid, we are not winning with Hill and Allen.

The best money we can spend this offseason is the money to front load or escape these contracts not backload and make them inescapable. To clean up our cap. So then in the future when we get that big name, we won't have to wreck our ability to build around them by committing 2024-2028 dollars to a bunch of players who are already becoming liabilities or surely will soon given their age and issues.

Since the J-E-T-S are the Saints defactor farm team, Zach Wilson may be in play, after they cut him of course. With our recent success with Vilma and Davis, and I guess you can now count Geno Smith now with the Seahawks. Never know.

The only negative is that he might date someone's mom here. Or is that even a negative?!?
